Around the House

Sarah held her finger up to my lip, which means, give it a kiss. When I did I felt something on her finger, pulled back and asked

Me: What’s that?

Sarah: My boogie (laughing)

Me: Gross, Sarah! Don’t do that!

Sarah: Still laughing

What Makes You Smile & A Contest

So, what makes you smile? My fridge makes me smile! Yes, it does. My memo board is full of pictures. Pictures of people that are very dear to me. People that I love and I know who love me in return. I also have several magnets that were given to me as gifts from special people. My favorite one says, Chocolate & Shoes take away the blues (how true) On days where I feel down, I love reading over the sweet magnets or looking at all the smiling faces. It's such a wonderful reminder of all that I have to be thankful for.

There are many other things that make me smile too, but I want to hear about what makes you smile. And to make this a little more fun I'm throwing in a prize. If you would like to play along leave me a comment, with the link to your post. I'll have Sarah draw a name and we will post the winner on Tuesday. Oh, the prize!

In keeping with a smiling theme, I'll be giving away a box of Crest Classic Whitestrips. LOVE these things! I just finished up a box a month or so ago and I still have another half a box, so I thought I'd share =P

Tara tagged me for the seven things meme! FUN!

Here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. I love reading. Christian fiction is my all time favorite.

2. I am not the most organized person. In fact I am not the least bit organized. I can't find anything. I am always running behind because I have misplaced something. This drives David & the girls crazy.

3. I do not like that high waisted jeans are coming back. I loved them back in the 80's, even said I would never wear low rise jeans. But I did. And I love them. I don't think I can go back.

4. I love Boca products! Until recently I'd only tried the hamburger patties. Now we get the chiken patties & nuggets, corn dogs, lasagna & breakfast wraps.

5. I want to learn how to sew, so bad! Guess I need to go ahead and sign up for lessons

6. I could (and do) watch Disney movies over and over. A few of my favorites are Peter Pan, Little Mermaid & Beauty & the Beast

7. My girls absolutely love going to the dentist. Even Miss Sarah got up in the chair last week for a cleaning. I, on the other hand HATE going! I act like a big baby! It's actually rather embarrassing.

Okay, now I tag

ABOUT THE BOOK

For Pete's Sake is a remarkable story about the unlikely live between a grown-up tomboy and the millionaire next door.

Ellen Brittingham isn’t sure true live exists until she contracts to do the landscaping of the estate of the sophisticated widower next door, Adrian Sinclair. Adrian has it all—at least on the surface, He’s engaged to a beautiful woman who helped him build a successful business and he’ll soon have a mom for his troubled son Pete.

Yet, from the moment Ellen rescues a stranded Adrian on her Harley, his well-ordered world turns upside down, cracking his thin façade of happiness and revealing the void of faith and love behind it. Even more, his son seems to have his own sites set on Ellen – as his new mom.

As Ellen’s friendship grows with Pete, she realizes that his father is about to marry the wrong woman for the right reasons. And despite her resolve to remain “neighbors only” with the dad, the precocious boy works his way into her heart, drawing Ellen and Adrian closer. Close enough for heartbreak, for Pete’s sake!

But how can her heart think that Adrian Sinclair is the one when he’s engaged to a sophisticated beauty who is everything Ellen isn’t. When Ellen’s three best friends see she’s been bitten by the love bug, they jump into action and submit her to a makeover that reveals the woman underneath her rough exterior and puts her in contention for Adrian’s love.

But Ellen must ask herself whether she’s ready to risk the heart that she’s always held close. Will Ellen be able to trust that God brought this family into her life for a reason? Or will her fear of getting hurt cause her to turn away from God’s plan and her one true chance at love?

Emails

I just got off the phone with David and he was telling me about the emails Emily & Audrey sent him today. I have not been feeling well today (I hate IBS) and apparently while I was resting in some of the worst pain of my life, the girls sent him emails.

David said that when he pulled up his email he had one from Emily and the subject stated ~ something happend!!! ~ worried he pulled up the email to find this message

30 Day Bible Reading Challenge

My dear friend Leah is hosting a 30 day bible reading challenge on her blog.

Motivation. I've needed it since I was a kid, my mom could testify to that,
and I haven't grown out of needing it as an adult as well. With me, if I'm not
motivated I fall behind, procrastinate, and am too lazy to even begin a project.
The little kid in me still needs stickers, rewards, candy, and prizes to get me
moving.

Visit Leah HERE to sign up.

Pictures, Sarah & Prayers

Remember last week how I was complaining about Photobucket? Well, I so love it today! Did you know it can actually capture your thoughts? Just look at what sweet little Natalie is thinking.! Seriously, it is like your own little mini photoshop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My prayer life has not been the best these past couple of months. It is just so hard to set aside time during the day with all the chaos that goes on around here. (David and I talked the other day and we are going to start setting aside time for me in the evenings once he gets home.) Tuesday I believe it was, I just really felt like I needed to spend some time in prayer. Emily & Audrey were outside and Sarah was playing. I asked her if she would like to pray with mommy. She said, yeah, sure mommy. (that's her reply now to everything)We sat in the chair and within a few minutes she started whispering, say amen mommy. When I didn't, she said it again. Then she just started repeating it over and over. I started thinking maybe she wasn't the best prayer partner to have.
Last night after Sarah and I got in the bed, she asked me, mommy you pray for Sarah, Natalie and Gracie. So we prayed for a minute. Then she wanted to pray for Emily and Audrey. And I gotta tell ya, it was the sweetest little prayer! Normally, she will pray over dinner, but it's always thank you for this food and help us have a good day. But last night she surprised me with her words and how complete her thoughts were.
So, now I'm thinking she is the best prayer partner to have. She just likes 'em short and sweet.
Because it's funny!
The other night after the girls were in bed, I got my camera and took a couple of pictures of them with the lights out. The flash was extra bright. The girls screamed to stop. But I kept on.
It was funny!
Sarah thought it was funny too!
See Sarah's little chin. She fell off the swing, face first into the ground. Her teeth did not cut through but it did bruise the inside and outside of her mouth.
Why is it?
Why is it everytime I sit down.........
Sarah needs to go potty or
Someone needs drink or
Help is needed on the computer or
Something needs to be found or
A fight breaks out or
The phone rings or
Time timer beeps on the oven
Weight Watchers
I'll be starting Weight Watchers again on Thursday night. Which is why I have been enjoying Reese's Cups tonight! And jelly beans. And Hershey Kisses!
In the two years since Sarah was born, I have lost 55 lbs. I finally hit my pre preggo weight goal over the summer, but I would love to drop another 15-20 pounds. That will put me right at what I weighed when we got married.
Why Do I Have ANOTHER Blog, again?
Well, I don't know! I use wordpress for my private blog and I love it! Since I have my own url I can make changes to the template and upload all kinds of cute ones. But on wp.com you can't do that and I hate I can't make fun changes to my template. So, here I am, once again at blogger. David is going to buy a new url for me and more than likely I will just keep it here at blogger by pointing the url to this blog. Not sure yet how that will all work out, but the instuctions are listed on the dashboard.
Anyway, a little about me. I always hate typing up these first post =P
I am Michelle. I have been married to David for the past 13 years and we have 3
beautiful girls. Emily ~ 9 Audrey ~ 7 & Sarah Jane ~ 2
